Paul Thorpe is back as Elvis on Saturday 21st January. Paul is widely regarded as one of the best Elvis impersonators in the UK and has appeared on TV in “The Time and The Place” and “Stars in Their Eyes”.

The Guru Balti restaurant has become a discount partner for Hibs Club members! Sit in; collection or delivery (usual sort of rules) Hibs Club members will get 10% discount from the food part of their bill.

The Guru is the best sit doonery Indian in the capital, legendary portion sizes of beautifully prepared food and the original elephants ear nann breads. The Guru is at 9 Dundee Terrace, up by Fountainpark, and is well worth the trip from Leith.

To claim your 10% you must show your membership card and if asked the reference is “Jack” (their idea not mine!). Any problems ask to speak with Iqbal or Hassan.

I’m sure many of you will know, from pre-match pints and snacks, the Club has two big function suites, available for hire to members, a games room and a members lounge.

The Club is open everyday, normally from 12:30 until midnight (11 pm on Sundays) and there are entertainment specials every week, normally a Saturday. These can range from a disco through to our regular showcase bands  and cabaret shows – sometimes there’s a nominal ticket price.

A faithful crowd get together on other nights for a friendly wee game of bingo each Sunday; darts and pool on Mondays; doms Tuesday, the Club has teams in the local darts, pool and doms leagues; and don’t forget the crib on Wednesday nights. A born again golf section will probably have day outings rather than club nights!

“The” Hibs Club Player of the Year is a great opportunity to ‘get up close and personal’ with Hibernian FC directors, the management team and first team squad members – an autograph hunters delight and a chance to have your photo taken with your favourites!

If you haven’t been to the Club (for a while), for any reason, come along and try it out – there’s been lots of changes recently, including the agent for the entertainment specials so they’re so much better than the were!

New members are always welcome, auld members welcomed back. The current members will be glad to see you and make you feel at home!!!
